PinBall - Gang, the knee's getting better (thanks for asking) - Woody & I had a solid work-out last night putting it to the test. Banging a few home with only some minor pain suggest that I'll be right for next year! A little more work to regain the pace, then a solid preseason should see me back to my best! Mark Petalas - Please pass this onto you club president. The over 47’s competition is gradually taking shape and more teams are expected for 2009 and beyond. Frankston Sharkies are seriously considering fielding an over 47’s team in 2009. The feedback in the recent weeks from some surrounding clubs is that a competitive team can be established. We would like to place an invitation to you and any players in your club that are eligible to join. We have considered the name Casey Districts (not finalised), as the predominant teams are in this district, even if your club is not the invitation to your club still applies. We ask that in the first instance for your feedback and within the next couple of weeks you provide me with a list of player’s names, dates of birth and contact numbers so we can arrange a BBQ get together in the pre-season to formally establish this team. No secret that the League gave us a tough draw.
We manged to win 7 out of 11 (Home & Away). We played the 2 Grand Finalists in Werribee & Frankston (TWICE). Back to Back (Both Away). We beat every team outside the 4 (including that memorable win against Werribee at Home). No one can say that we did not deserve to be in the finals this year, to then play Frankston at Frankston.
Have a great break and see you all bigger & better next year.

Macca/Over 47s - Like Dawesy said great effort yesterday Hawks. Bloxer and the boys have built a great club at Hallam. We're not trying to poach but every year we are all getting older and the Tigersharks are hoping to field an Over 47s side next year. If there are any Hawks with real "grey wings" thinking of giving Supers away don't be lost to footy forever. You'd be more than welcome to come along for a run with our Over 47s. We need to learn form those games. That we think we just walk and win the game. Box Hill next week at ther ground will not be easy. Have a look at their match photos form recent games. They are not the old fat bald blokes that we used to play against. They train twice a week and at their small home ground will not be easy beats.
Remember a couple of years ago we beat a few top sides and lost to lower teams we under estimated. (Cost us a place in the finals at the end). Not this Year.

Hilly - G'day all, just to let you all know that we may NOT have a bye as scheduled. We may actually be playing for 4 points against a new side, Federal bayside who want to get a DIV 3 side happening. So for those who were not at training las tnight, we will be training again next Wednesday and have a bit of a chat about where we are going wrong. WE HAVE THE CATTLE this year but we are grazing in the wrong paddock. We need to do the team things and not play as individuals. I will leave it at that for now.

Scotty Palmer - Dissapointing effort by most of us yesterday.
We need some moral team building , skills practice and confidence put back into the team. There are some key players that look down from previous years. We need to get them back up. Hopefully we can add Billy to the side soon to help lift the tempo in the next few weeks.
Up to Hilly but it looks like a good time to have a team meeting and get back to basics. We have 4 weeks to take a long hard look at ourselves. We have the players to go a long way. But we have not showed any sort of team spirit and hard work on the feild for 4 quarters as yet. We had a good pre-season , let's get back to it Hawks!!!

I remember a few years ago, Kerry had got a couple of pre-season games up where ex-Kerry-club Brunswick, Knox and Frankfurt-by-the-sea players got a much needed run, in the Hofert tradition of promoting the great game.

As a Member of the Footy Tarts "we'll play anywhere!", in Supers I've filled in with 6 other teams, but only signed up with the Wickers for 14 years. Also VM, VC, ACT & NSW at Pambula, plus a 3 in a Country carnival - I think 14 all up.
As you know Changi, if you play your career at FB, no bastard kicks it to you, (teammates kick the other way, but at least the opposition kick it a bit in my direction) so I keep sneeking over the fence to stooge some opposition coach into playing me up forward. My Queen Mary turning circle wises'em up quick though.

Macca - Just backing up what the Big Fella has said. As Pres of Frankston some of our boys went a bit far with the trash talk and I apologise for the actions of a couple of our boys. Got to know a few of the Hallam boys over last couple of years, Whisky, Ray, Lindsay and the like and found them to be good blokes to have a beer with and always found the Hallam boys to be good hosts. Kerry copped a bit but showed he can take it by coming in for a beer after game which is admired by me.

Harvs is right and Frankston needs to keep things in check. Good luck for rest of the year Hawks and I knwo we can expect a hard game against you next time.

We've asked Bombers to fire up the canteen for us and open the bar as well during the arvo. There's playground in the grounds and KFC, Subway and HJs nearby for the kids.
