08 Finals CurtainRaisers:- Seniors Curtain Raisers - at the Finals Aug 31st. 10:30 start, 4x15 quarters - finish 12:00
Over-45s State Squad Practice Matches will be played before the Div1 and Div2 Finals.
State squad players given preference. If you have a BigV jumper please bring it.
Div3 is a Brunswick and friends v Frankston and friends Masters game. (eg Knox, Carrum, maybe Penins)
Sides will be mixed to give an even game.

GREAT MATCH, GREAT WEEKEND:- Another close match between Metro and Country. Well supported by Metro and the Geelong guys, once we balanced numbers, everyone got a whole game. Everyone enjoyed the well grassed surface, and congrats to coach Brassy.
As I write this back in the burbs, quite a few Metro guys and girls are still enjoying the long weekend on the Murray with a game of golf, a winery or two, or some fishing, doubtless followed by another great night before wending the way back home on Monday.

HEWEY:- A few guys were not able to make it, but we were well backed up by a carload of at the last minute. Mick Grounds, Joey Marino, Col Fenton and Mick from Diamond Valley lobbed together as, in the phone shadow, we were unable to determine who was coming. Also Diamond Valley's Brian King gave the serenity of BonnyDoon a break to motor up the highway for a Best on Ground performance.

DEWEY:- Other good performances by Kanna, Pickles, Joey, in the midfield and Col in the ruck. Unfortunately the dewey conditions gave both backlines a great advantage over the forwards and it was relatively low scoring despite being a good quality game.

LEWEY:- Thanks to the Metro guys who switched jerseys to help out Country for a half. That's a great part of the spirit in these games. The after game convivialities are another part and the set-up at Barooga is great with the Sportsmans Club for a good feed and natter, with a watch of all the footy codes in the background followed by the live music.
